We had a great turnout at the community flu clinic! Dr. Mary Choy, Immediate Past-President of NYCSHP, Associate Professor of Touro College, and Clinical Pharmacist at Metropolitan Hospital, organized a flu clinic on Wednesday, September 17th that was held at the Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC), located in an under-served area in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Other collaborators included Assemblyman Peter Abbate, Jr. and Council Member Carlos Menchaca. The clinic was a huge success, with 120+ Asian-American and Spanish community members receiving the immunization. NYCSHP and Touro College of Pharmacy students (William Loi, Marisol Ibarra, Victor Chen, Ashley Szeto, Mimi Quach, Wilson Lam, and Yen Nguyen) assisted with marketing the event and also provided translation services in Chinese and Spanish. Many thanks to the CPC-Brooklyn Branch for their commitment in serving the community and for partnering with NYCSHP to make this event happen!
Assemblyman Peter Abbate presented Dr.Choy with a New York State Assembly Citation Award for her dedication to public health. Congratulations, Dr.Choy!
