NYCSHP and Royal Counties Chapters came together at Scaletta Ristorante in the Upper West Side for the last CE Program of 2016!
The program kicked off with a great clinical pearl by Julia Sessa, PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Resident at Winthrop University Hospital. She presented on the topic “Chronic Hepatitis C.” Julia provided an excellent overview on how to treat different patient populations with varying hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotypes.
For the CE segment, Dr. Ellen J. Scherl, MD, FACP, FACG, AGAF, FASGE, Director at Jill Roberts Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Weill Cornell, and Ms. Jane Leung, MS, RPh, Director, State Pharmacy at WellCare Health Plans, presented on “Connecting the Dots Between Payers & Providers in IBD Treatment.” Together, they spoke about anti-TNF and anti-integrin therapies for inflammatory bowel disease and discussed newly proposed strategies to guide managed care decisions among payers and providers.
With the holiday season in full swing, NYCSHP and Royals participated in the Toys for Tots Drive! Members donated a variety of unwrapped toys to provide gifts to less fortunate children for Christmas. This is one of the many ways NYCSHP took an active role and made contributions towards the community this year!
Thanks to everyone in NYCSHP for making 2016 such a successful year! Happy holidays and see you all in 2017!
