NYCSHP New Practitioners CE Program

On Wednesday April 12th, NYCSHP’s New Practitioner Committee held its first CE program at the Heartland Brewery and Chophouse located in Midtown Manhattan.  Grifols sponsored the program along with the presentation Hereditary Antithrombin Deficiency and the Use of Thrombate III by Dr. Mark Ereth. This presentation covered the history and difficulties of anticoagulation therapy in an institutional setting and discussed the potential of Thrombate III in patients with hereditary antithrombin III deficiency.

Dr. Rickard went over the vast array of diabetes medications available on the market. His presentation included how to manage a hypoglycemic event, updates in glycemic and blood pressure goals throughout the multiple diabetic guidelines and new formulations of insulin therapy. Dr. Rickard made sure the audience left the presentation knowing important clinical facts such as the critical point of hypoglycemia  and second line therapies in Type 2 diabetes management.
