NYCSHP held it’s second November CE at Massoni at Arlo Hotel. President, Karen Berger welcomed all of the members and provided a legislative update about NYSCHP’s new lobbyist, Senator Nicholas Spano. Senator Spano has joined NYSCHP. He has been advocating for our profession and helping to educate our Assemblymembers about current legislation affecting pharmacy.
President Berger updated the group about the 8 Grassroots lobbying visits where Assemblymembers have agreed to be cosponsors! She encouraged all members to join our Grassrooots lobbying committee to become more involved.
President Berger introduced the first speaker, Patricia Novy, PhD. Dr. Novy presented “Meningococcal Serogroup B: Disease Education and Vaccine Information”
President Berger introduced the second speaker, Shawn Mazur, PharmD, Clinical Pharmacy Manager, Infectious Diseases, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Mazur presented “Dropping the “MIC”: Management of Bacteremia Caused by Extended Spectrum B-Lactamase (ESBL) Producing Enterobacteriaceae”
