Explore the following programs NYCSHP created to further engage, empower, and elevate those in the pharmacy profession:
Pharmgradwishlist
• A NYCSHP Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee initiative.
→ Started during 2022 – 2023 by DEI Committee Chair Amber Johnson.
• About: NYCSHP has partnered with PharmGradWishlist to provide financial and professional support through sponsorship ($1,000) and mentorship.
• Mission: To promote equity by sponsoring racially and ethnically minoritized pharmacists and pharmacist trainees as they progress through the profession.
• This initiative will provide scholarships for a pharmacy student, a pharmacy resident, and a new practitioner.
wings for the future
• This program was initiated by the NYCSHP Membership Committee, but is now managed by the Student Relations Committee.
→ Started during 2022 – 2023 by Membership Committee Chair Eddie Hom.
• Mission: Find sponsors to help provide student pharmacists with NYCSHP memberships, so that we can help nurture them in this ever growing profession.
• Goal: To provide more student-focused events in order to foster the next generation of pharmacy leaders.
• This initiative will sponsor free NYSCHP memberships for student pharmacists.
RXTech empower
• A NYCSHP Pharmacy Executive Technician Committee initiative.
→ Started during 2024 – 2025 by Pharmacy Executive Technician Committee Chairs Michele B. Kaufman and Awilda Mejias.
• About: The NYCSHP RXTech Empower Membership Program aims to provide pharmacy technicians with an opportunity to become a member and experience the benefits of NYCSHP. We will be awarding up to five (5) memberships.
• Application submissions were accepted through Monday, September 30th, 2024.
• Please note: This program is for pharmacy technicians who are not yet members of the New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists (NYSCHP).
